"Children's Liturgy of the Word" program meets during the 10 a.m. Sunday Mass at St. Charles Borromeo. We sing songs, color, and each child receives a pamphlet covering the day's readings. This program is designed to introduce your child to the knowledge of the church in an interactive setting they can be excited about. If you haven't already signed your child up for this free program, call the parish office. You are also invited to observe our program by joining us with your child when Father dismisses the children immediately before the Liturgy of the Word. For more information call Paula Wegman (932-3019) or Diane Welch (932-6994).

Faith Formation

Faith formation for children, youth and adults comes alive in the great ballpark of activities at St. Charles Borromeo and St. Aloysius.

The teamwork of our entire faith community is the key to our success. Nearly 300 children and youth in grades 1-10 gather weekly from September to April in small peer groupings to break open and delve into the Word of God at their level.

Over 30 Catechists guide the youth on their faith journey. Large group experiences, retreats, service projects, youth masses, parent enrichment opportunities, and youth nights compliment the Faith Formation year.

Meals are served for the whole family every Wednesday evening of Faith Formation in the commons area of the church. Two serving sessions are available: 5:30-6 p.m. and 7-7:15 p.m. We ask that each family participate by donating $25 to cover the cost of food and we ask that you also volunteer to help serve and clean up. It is a vocation to discipleship. The following of Christ as a disciple entails a personal response, and this call can result in a positive impact on our faith communities.

"Stewardship is an expression of discipleship, with the power to change how we understand and live out our lives." Good stewards live with joy and gratitude for the blessings they have received -- including those that have multiplied through diligence and hard work.

Individuals compose collectively the Body of Christ; therefore, disciples of Jesus Christ are stewards of the church because stewardship is the personal responsiblity of each one of the baptized. "To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit is given for some benefit." 1 Cor 12:7

Stewardship: let us begin with being a disciple -- a follower of our Lord Jesus Christ. As members of the church, Jesus calls us to be disciples. This has astonishing implications.

Mature disciples make a conscious decision to follow Jesus, no matter what the cost.

Christian disciples experience conversion -- life-shaping changes of mind and heart and commit their very selves to the Lord.

Christian stewards respond in a partciular way to the call to be a disciple. Stewardship has the power to shape and mold our understanding of our lives and the way in which we live.

Jesus' disciples and Christian stewards recognize God as the origin of life, giver of freedom, and source of all things. We are grateful for the gifts we have received and are eager to use them to show our love for God and for one another. We look to the life and teaching of Jesus for guidance in living as Christian stewards.
